Rural Scene
I had a top up Ocado lorry this morning, as some of the things I wanted on my last delivery were not available. This arrived while my husband was having an Addenbrookes telephone consultation. They suggested that we continue to be very careful and go out for a walk very early in the morning before most people are out wearing gloves and a mask. That is okay while the weather is not too bad, but will be rather difficult once the clocks go back to Greenwich Meantime.
Yesterday I received a text from the pharmacy in the village to say that they had a limited number of winter flu vaccines and they were available on a first come, first served basis. After my husband’s consultation had finished I telephoned the pharmacy to see if they had any left; they still had fifty. We walked down to the pharmacy and received our vaccines. Our local surgery does not start their vaccination programme until 19 September, which is a Saturday, so I suspect they will be even later than that.
On the way home I took today’s picture. These horses were not in the field when we went into self-quarantine and although not a particularly good picture, taken with an iPhone, it is something different to the recent boring pictures of my garden and it wildlife.
The temperature today was seventeen degrees Celsius at GMT noon
