Coming in to land!

We had another busy day in the garden and another 5 mile walk. There wasn't too much to take on the walk but as we got back to the car we saw a group of these birds flying overhead. To me, the bird on the ariel looks like a starling and the one coming in to land has speckles, but a white head and throat and part of the wings and tail are whilte. Is is possible that it is a starling or not? All ideas gratefully received!
