A ruin but....

still impressive as it towers above you on approach from the Firth. It was the fourteenth century stronghold of the Mackenzies and a home until the twentieth century. Aptly named Redcastle, it is an impressive sandstone structure.
It was pretty windy and cool here today, with a strong breeze blowing straight from the west, unimpeded as it swept straight across the waters.
Autumn has definitely arrived here, with fruit on the Bramble and Conkers on the reddening Horse Chestnuts. I always consider it much milder here, where Sweet Chestnuts bear fruit and Planes grow, but it was much warmer at home, drier too!
