Grandpa feeder

The new hen trough is called a Grandpa feeder. The hens stand on the plate, as demonstrated by my foot, which opens the lid for them to help themselves. When they are not eating the trough is tightly closed against rain rats and birds, that's the theory anyway. It takes them a while to learn how to use it so here is lesson one of me holding it open and then learning that the food is in there.. They are nervous of the movement just now but they will get used to it in a day or so,

Busy day at work preparing for the next 3 weeks of interesting field work starting next Monday.

No new Covid cases in Argyll today which is more good news although I have had to take KK out of football training this Friday with another school as they want no contact, fair enough.
