Where's Esme?
This girl really cracks me up :-)) What a delight she is. I can't believe she will be two next week. The last two years have galloped by!
I think Andrew and Nikki were hoping to have a family birthday tea for Esme on Sunday but with East Dunbartonshire being in lockdown, it means Ele and Kenny (Esme's gran and Grumpa) wouldn't be able to go, so not sure what will happen.
There's also the chance the authority they live in could be in lockdown, which would be a real shame. Really hope we can get together to celebrate her birthday.
We're also having a re-think our week in Lancashire with Alan and his pal Andrew, which is almost upon us. With the increased restrictions in England, it hardly seems worth going. Plus I am worried that whilst we are there further lockdown restrictions are put in place, and trying to amuse Alan and Andrew for a week whilst stuck inside a holiday cottage does not appeal.
David's going to phone the holiday people tomorrow to talk it over and see if we can postpone till next year. If we can I think we will. We've arranged a hire car too but I suspect we won't get our money back for that. We can but try.
Andrew and Alan will be disappointed but if we don't go I will suggest that Andrew comes down anyway and stays with us for a few days. We haven't see him at all since lockdown started so hopefully a few days here will make up for the disappointment of having to postpone the holiday.
We're also supposed to be going away next month for a long weekend with Ele, Kenny, Andrew, Nikki, Esme and our niece Jennifer to a holiday cottage down south. This was originally booked for March as an extended family celebration of Ele's big birthday, but it was put back to October when lockdown was announced. Of course back then we thought everything would be back to normal by October. That went well then. If there's still a limit of 6 on the number of people allowed in a house then we'll offer not to go rather than them have to postpone again. Of course if they're still in lockdown, they'll have to postpone it anyway.
Suddenly everything is very uncertain again.
In other news, I started a painting this morning that was supposed to be painted using varying tones of only two colours of paint and be very wishy washy ethereal and delicate. Fast forward three hours and oh dear, everything but the kitchen sink's been thrown at it! It's either genius or disaster...I haven't made up my mind yet!
Oh and the 91% Isopropyl alcohol arrived today for use with my acrylic inks. Oooof! It reeks! There may be trouble ahead! :-)))
