Blackout

I was caught in the Sydney CBD blackout today. I had no idea what was going on apart from the fact that people were driving strangely, and that we were waiting at the pedestrian crossing for an awfully long time.

Then I realised all the traffic lights were off. It was utter chaos - fire alarms going off, police / ambulance / fire trucks and sirens wailing past a flurry of cars trying to move through peak hour traffic without lights... this photo doesn't convey at all the confusion and chaos this afternoon.
