Blue on Blue

This water tank in Jonah, Texas, is painted sky blue to mitigate its visual impact on the surrounding homes, farms, and ranches. Contrary to most efforts to camoflage things like cell phone towers by disgusing them as perfectly straight 150 foot tall palm trees, this paint job does a fine job blending in with the Texas sky. Not like you don't know it's there, but it looks far better than if it were a contrasting color. This is pretty typical of the sky color here; no polarizer used, just the ever-present haze/UV filter/lens protector, and no post-processing.

I first shot this tower yesterday - after Id' already blipped - and knew I had to go back for today's blip. Fortunately, it's not far at all, and I needed to head that way anyway.

Blipping is addictive.
