Got it wrong again Dad!

NaCl.
I decided to make another start on growing some HUGE salt crystals. 

What I hadn't sense to do was take a shot of the solution to mark the commencement date.  Every check, to date, has shown a clear solution.  BTW I thought I'd strained out all the pink dust. 

What I saw, and you can't, is the fact that the blurry shapes seem to be crystals which have formed floating.  I tried to lift out the two shapeless lumps on the left - they were huge misshapen crystals stuck to the glass at the meniscus and sunk when nudged.
The clearer ones with noticeable + on them formed cooperatively, on the bottom. No further views until I see a noticeable growth - AGAIN.

At least I'll get an idea of how long from now.
