Canoodling!
Those of us who are fascinated with insect life cycles (raises hand, sheepishly) are hard-pressed to pass up a chance to capture a bit of bug porn. In fairness, I very nearly missed these two little stink bugs because they were ridiculously small. In fact, had they not been *ahem* thus engaged, I would have thought them to be nymphs, not adults. Length approximately 1/8 inch/1/2 cm. No idea what the species is, but I will endeavor to find out.
I had another night of very poor sleep - perhaps 2.5 hours in total, so it was not a very productive day for me. However, I did enjoy a nice long chat with my parents this morning which is always a very good way to start the day. They are house-bound at the moment due to the terrible wild fires raging in Oregon, California and Washington. The smoke was so thick yesterday that the sky looked almost burgundy. The wind is supposed to change direction in the next few days which will give them some relief from the heavy smoke. I wonder how much more 2020 will throw at us before the year is out?
A late afternoon sit on the deck produced a nice variety of birds including one warbler and three hummers.
Stay safe and be kind and loving.
