1930-ies

Was editing most of the day and this picture of my mum and her family came along too. It's taken in the early 30-ies of last century; I gather mum is 6 years of age here and her brother must be 3 than, what suggests the photo was made in 1933. 

I'm struck by the leanness of both my grandparents... it clearly shows they struggled lots with the poverty of those years of The Great Depression (1929-1939) and probably saved the foods from their mouths to give that to their children; such testimonies I've often heard from their generation. 

my eyes felt like giving me sqaure vision after all that editing, so a backblip it is and thank you all lots for your reactions of recent!!
