Black & white workshop - day 1

started with a day in the field shooting. We had a fabulous time, with great light at Derwentwater, but the first subject we found was the rather superb porcelain fungus (oudemansiella mucida) - a fantastic photographic subject - but maybe not in B&W - so I've posted it as an extra, it's a focus stack of 9 images, to get full dof across the nearest fungus. 

We then dropped down to Derwentwater, and the constantly changing light across the Borrowdale area was a joy - I don't think we moved more than 200 metres for a couple of hours!
