Carrot and wasp*

Today, at last, my eyes seem to have settled down. One now a pinky, rather than red colour. The other back to normal. No irritation. So feeling much happier. Will reopen comments on Monday, as busy over the weekend. Thanks for your forbearance* (a good Covid expression).

Went out early to meet J&R in Highcliffe. Lovely walk on the beach and back via Highcliffe Castle (remember from Mr Selfridge?).

J&R’s Wedding Anniversary lunch at The Lord Bute (6 of us). Sat on the terrace. Great choice. Attentive service. Good traditional food. Spent a few hours chatting. We were plagued by waves of wasps (see image).

Walk along the high street and back, sat and talked a little more, until it cooled. Back home for 7:30.

Covid figures following the pattern elsewhere - UP. Sad, but not unexpected. Although still relatively low down here, there have been cases reported, a little too close for comfort. A member of staff infected at a local Post Office, another at a nearby popular pub.
