More Smoke.....
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments and thoughts on my begonia blip yesterday. The winds have died down, thank goodness, so the two huge fires that are south of Portland didn't grow too much overnight - only 5000 acres (!) The firefighters are worried that these two fires will merge, creating one enormous fire. They're only a few miles apart with rugged terrain in between that makes it difficult to keep the fires apart.
The air quality tonight is 540 here, and you may know that below 50 is considered healthy! We're not used to these terrible wildfires here in Western Oregon. We have a lush, green, temperate land that doesn't typically burn. So we're all in shock...and on top of the virus and the violet protests, one begins to wonder.
Trying to keep a positive outlook, I did put my mask on (the virus mask) and went outside to take a blip. The mask doesn't help with breathing the smoke, but at least it's not as pungent. I've been trying to get a good shot of this lovely dahlia (and believe me those are NOT raindrops!) and it seemed to work this afternoon. There's even a little creature basking in the rain drops if you look closely.
Another night of air purifier on high next to the bed! Hoping tomorrow will bring some better news.
So grateful to you all for your lovely thoughts and support. And thanks to Anni, BikerBear for her lovely continued hosting of Flower Friday!
