Bike sold

My Gumtree ad for Claire’s bike didn’t get a lot of interest. I got one text offering £2k, which was good enough. Yesterday I got a call from the interested buyer, Desi from Northern Island.

“Is the bike tidy” he asked.

“Yes, I think so. Claire’s has it for 5 years and driven only 3,000 miles. It’s been kept under cover and serviced. You’ll need to take a look at it yourself.”

“Can you get it to Carlisle?” he asked. “I’ll send you cash in the post. You’ll have it tomorrow. Just drop the bike off in Carlisle by the end of next week.”

A bizarre way of doing business. The cash arrived this morning & went straight into the bank. I’ll take the bike to Carlisle next week, but Desi won’t be there. He’ll arrive later, in a van, to take several bikes back to NI including Claire’s CB500F, bought unseen.
