Borrowdale

After lunch we came by mini bus to Ashness Bridge for a walk up Walla Crag.  The narrow lane up to the bridge was interesting and there was a lot of squeezing in to get past.

Wonderful walk up onto Walla Crag and this is looking back towards Borrowdale.

In extras is the scout hut which has such happy memories.  In 1974 I came to the Lakes for the first time on a sea ranger/scout holiday.  The scouts stayed here and the sea rangers camped at Ashness Farm up the road.  A wonderful holiday and love affair with the Lakes which endures to this day.
