Peewit

The Lapwing has a strange Shetland name - Tieves Nacket. No idea of the history behind that!

It is described as a common breeding summer visitor and winter visitor so not sure which category this one will fall into. I suspect it is a winter visitor as there are plenty about at the moment after a short period where there weren't many.
