A Watchful Heron

I  was willing this Heron to come just that little bit closer today but he wasn't playing and he remained in the same spot which was just that little bit further away than I like.  I thought he looked nice amongst the wild flowers but he was intent on staying put, so that eventually I was the one who gave up and moved on.

We had lunch with my nephew and his wife today, and although we were all happy to see each other it was strange not to have my BIL there;  hopefully he'll be home on Tuesday and will make a full recovery.
