Ruxley Towers

I often see this tower poking through the trees as I head home - northbound on the A3. I went in search of it today.

It is a folly built in the 1800s in Claygate by Lord Henry Thomas Foley on the Ruxley Estate. It has since been used by the Army, Navy and Air Force and in more recent times used as a Television set for Sir Cliff Richard and was the home of Ronnie Wood. It has six floors, with each room having its own floor. The top floor has a sun terrace with panoramic views.

The Tower is one property and the adjoining building is divided into four further apartments.
