Hohenpeißenberg

Into Murnau this morning, picked up S’s mum then headed to Hohenpeißenberg to enjoy the views. It was a bit hazy over the Alps (how far can smoke travel on the jet stream?) but pretty good nonetheless. No seats on the restaurant terrace so we just drove to our favourite beergarden in Peißenberg for lunch, then back to Murnau.
Called in on Zack, had a chat, then wandered into town since the poor guy had been cycling all day and was starving! And the evening stayed warm so we wandered further, first to Karg (full) then to Griesbrau (full) then to friends of Zack’s who entertained us grandly on Their terrace! Bavarian hospitality is alive and well!
Meanwhile the centre of Garmisch is in lockdown after an American servicewoman ignored her Covid symptoms and went clubbing and pubbing in town. Fifty folk infected, hundreds more in quarantine. Unbelievable.
