Looking forward to quince jelly

It's that time of year when I'm out checking the quince tree each day, as the fruit can move quickly from not looking ripe at all to splitting and dropping off the tree. We were both awake very early this morning... an opportunity to get out in the warm sunshine, and have a wander round the garden.
There's a lot to do out there: weeding, cutting back overgrown plants, thinking through what might best fit into some new gaps. Now that I'm not mucking out a stable, exercising Milly or picking up horse poo in the field... it's an opportunity for a proper catch-up.
