CAVEAT EMPTOR! Look at the size of these screws!

My wife accidentally fell over the open door of our dishwasher and damaged the door. Our insurance brokers told us we could claim on our household insurance. Then we received a call from the insurance company assessor asking us if the dishwasher was 'integral' to which I replied 'yes'. He then told us that we couldn't claim because it was accidental damage to the inside of the building for which we weren't covered! I pointed out that it was just two quarter inch screws that held it in place, but that was enough to invalidate our £450 claim! Two poxy little screws! Guess who wasn't happy?

And as I stated above, caveat emptor or 'let the 'buyer beware' - does your household policy cover you for accidental damage to any part of your integral kitchen? Cooker, fridge, washing machine etc.? It's really worth checking!
