Nevermore
Don’t underestimate the Common Raven • They are a member of the Perching Bird group, all have 3 toes pointing forward and 1 backward • Ravens are one of the smartest animals, right up there with chimpanzees and dolphins • They can mimic human voices better than some parrots • They live in flocks until they mature and mate for life, then the pair live together within a specific territory • Their average lifespan is 10 - 15 years • Ravens have more than 100 vocalizations to communicate a wide range of messages to each other and to other animals • This raven was perched high in a big Maple tree across the street. He seemed quite annoyed that I was tossing peanuts under the lilac trees for the bluejays and squirrels. I’ve realized in life that I cannot please everyone! • Nevermore...
