The Severn Vale from Prinknash Abbey

As I drove over the hilltop to descend into the Severn Vale I remembered that long ago I'd blipped a similar view across the Severn Vale. I pulled off the A46 at the entrance to Prinknash Abbey and parked up. The weather was very overcast but it was clear enough to see over to the Forest of Dean on the far side of the Severn.

The eucalyptus tree was a draw too. I love the way their bark peels and drops off. I end up thinking of hot days in Australia and Sri Lanka.
