CANAL BASIN

The wonderful Loading Crane on the Driffield Canal, with the old Bradshaw Flour Mill on the right. A grand riverside walk with Mallard, Coot, Moorhen, Mute Swans, Long-Tailed Tits . . . and a grand Kingfisher on superfast fly-past.
The Driffield Navigation is an 11-mile waterway to the market town of Driffield, East Riding of Yorkshire. The northern section of it is a canal, and the southern section is part of the River Hull. It was fully open in 1770.
