Stanley Spencer in the phone box?!

To day we went to Cookham to see the new exhibition - Love,Art,Loss- The wives of Stanley Spencer in the Stanley Spencer Gallery. Some great paintings and portraits of his two wives - Hilda and Patricia. Not allowed to take any photographs in the gallery so I took this one...the phone box is just outside the gallery with an image of Stanley Spencer with his barrow of painting gear which apparently he wheeled around Cookham when he lived there. A very sunny day so difficult to take this blip because of the reflections from the glass.
We also saw Fernlea the house where he was born and lived later in life ( See extra) plus went Cookham church (closed) where there is a memorial to Spencer and his first wife Hilda in the churchyard.

Lots of traffic both ways and several lots of road works. Queues getting onto the M3 at Sunbury at 4.30pm so we we’re glad we were coming into London not going out!
