Pancake day

Had pancakes for tea; more out of lack of ideas for something else than celebrating Shrove Tuesday. The English have to have pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. It's a capital sin if you don't. But very few of them have the faintest clue what it's about & where it comes from.

2 more sleeps till holiday! We're going to a cottage in Wiveton on the North Norfolk coast near Cley next the Sea. And yes, I just came back from a 4 week holiday in SA, but C didn't have a holiday for months, and it's my birthday on Saturday. That's enough reason for a holiday, isn't it?
