Tuesday: Fred and Terry

This afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting Fred, Terry Fox’s older brother.  He now runs the Terry Fox Foundation and is gearing up for Sunday which is the day of the annual Terry Fox Run.  It’s still going ahead around the world but people are doing things individually, rather than in groups.  Fred was supposed to be in London for this year’s run but obviously couldn’t make it.

I asked him what Terry was like.  He said that he was never the most athletic kid, or the smartest, but he was a real tryer and he always pushed himself to do as well as he could.  As Fred said: ‘Terry always had to try that bit harder than everybody else’.  Apparently, as a younger brother, he could also be a real ‘pain in the rear’........
