One more climb
Knowing we were in for another hot day today, we decided on the easier option although we both made hard work of it this afternoon. We parked above Swanage at the same place as Monday and then headed in the opposite direction across Durlston Country park and took the Upper path and then the Priest’s way to Worth Matravers. En route someone asked us if we had seen the dinosaur tracks so in the first extra there are fossilised dinosaur tracks left by giant plant eaters called sauropods that walked here by a shallow freshwater lagoon 145 million years ago. Rather difficult to photograph so you will have to believe me that’s what they are. Then on to Worth Matravers where we found a nice cool bus shelter to have our lunch. Then we took the track down to Winspit where we started today’s walk properly. We passed Dancing Ledge,, second estranand Tilly Whim caves and then back to Durlston where we started this morning, 12.75 miles in total today.
