Make Every Day Memorable

Applecross And Back

We set off on a bit of a road trip today, traveling further north than we have been before, to go to Applecross.
The road over the mountain is a bit of a white knuckle ride with hairpin bends and steep ascents (extra) but not, we thought, as scary as the Wrynose and Hardknott Passes in Cumbria.
Plenty of camper vans and cars were taking the route so we spent quite a lot of time waiting in passing places. The views were incredible.

Despite the amount of traffic we found a quiet spot looking across the sound to Skye where we watched porpoises or dolphins.
Not so much wildlife today but I did catch a glimpse of an otter on the banks of Loch Linnhe as we drove to Fort William first thing. First one I've seen on the mainland.

My main blip is the view over to Skye being admired by a real Highland Coo.
A herd were causing a holdup on the road. Of course I got out of the car for a closer look which got the attention of the bull. He didn't look particularly docile so after a few shots, I left him to it.

It's been a very long day. We've probably traveled more than 250 miles but have seen some magnificent country.

Thank you to everyone who has left lovely comments with stars and hearts I really appreciate the time you take.
