Hunting
By CALLY
I've discovered a place where, just before the sun drops below the horizon, flocks of ibis suddenly appear overhead, destined for their roosting spot in the Onkaparinga Gorge area. I think they navigate back along the river. One minute I can't see anything in the sky. Then suddenly a V of about 10 are overhead and passing me. It is so quick and I can barely get a focus on them as they glide by. A lovely sight, though. At their best with the sun lighting them up underneath. Tonight's attempt was unfortunately blurred. But during the wait for them I did snap this bird on the hunt, beautifully outstretched. He was a bit high up for my lens & isn't very sharp, but it's my blip for today.
