Mega Yachts

This was our view from the lunch table (more about that disastrous experience in a minute!). The HUGE yacht on the right is the Oasis - just returned from a short celebrity charter and available for hire, a snip at 345,000 Euros a week (excluding food, beverages and fuel). It has a gym (convertible to a disco), six staterooms and has 'relaxed country house decor' ie bland. The celebrity is rumoured to have been Nicholas Cage who is house hunting in the bay.

And now the lunch experience in the Hurricane Hole Bar. It was our second visit, food prices not too bad (about $20 US for a main course) and freshly cooked to order. We got 2 beers and ordered from the menu - as expected food service was slow (but that was OK) but we'd finished our drinks so ordered 2 more. The waitress brought them over, set mine down and leaned over with Mr T's beer spilling a lot of it all over me - my trousers were soaked. What would you expect the reaction to be? Not what happened, I'll bet - I was handed my own napkin to mop up and then ignored.

After seething for a bit I went over to complain and was told 'something would be done'. The 'something' was getting our bill, in full, at the end, including a service charge!! I complained again and the bill was reissued, missing the service charge - but still everything else in full. I knocked off a bit more, to allow for the missing beer, and vowed to get my revenge in Trip Advisor.

So - if you do go to this bar - wear waterproof clothing and/or adopt the American attitude and threaten to sue!
