BUS STATION

A couple of days ago I made an online purchase from Marks and Spencers and to save on the delivery charge I opted to collect my items in store.  They were ready to collect today so I got the bus to The Metrocentre.  First time I have been there since March . ( My sister in law did take me to M & S a couple of weeks ago in the car but we only went to the food hall.)

I got my parcel with no problems and also did some food shopping in M & S.  It wasn't busy.  Had a quick look at the clothes in the Sale but I wasn't really in the mood for clothes shopping.  Popped into Wilkinsons on my way back to the bus station.  Got lots of bird food.  Wilkinsons always used to be my " go to " shop for bird food before lockdown so it was good to get back there and stock up.

Took my blip shot as I was waiting for the bus home. Realised I hadn't taken any photos so just did it last minute.  Processed it to make it fit the Abstract Thursday challenge ... " shades of".  So here are some shades of yellow.  Thanks to  Ingeborg for hosting.

In the last seven days the Gateshead area where I live has seen the number of weekly cases of Covid 19  rise to 165.  Because of this the local council has brought in some temporary measures which begin at midnight tonight.  The main points are:~

Residents must not socialise with other people outside of their own households in private homes and gardens or in any public venue.  You can still meet up with anyone in your own support bubble.

All hospitality for food and drink will be restricted to table service only

Late night restriction of operating hours will be introduced, with venues required to close between 10pm to 5am.

Residents are advised against attending amateur and semi-professional sporting events as spectators

Residents are advised to only use public transport for essential purposes, such as travelling to school or work

These latest measures are intended as proactive, preventative actions to head off a worst-case scenario - a local lockdown.  I do hope they work and the rate of cases starts dropping soon.
