Lonely but loved
Thursday 17th September 2020
This was the day I was concerned about, without an easily accessible good location with the "right" type of photography. I took the group on a walk to Kents Bank and reminded them that it was the journey not the destination that was important.
On the way we stopped to chat to Cedrick, the gentleman who was the Queen's Guide across the sands for many years. It was interesting to chat with him.
At Kents Bank we went to explore the closed Abbots Hall Hotel. It gave me lots of photo opportunities and lent inself to mono. The Hotel has been abandoned and is now looking rather sorry for itself. For some of the group there were many happy memories of times spent there so it was a visit of mixed emotions.
We managed to stop for an ice cream on the walk back. I can't believe the week is over already. Some very kind feedback from participants.
