Departure
While I still have two days of work left, today I moved out of my apartment, with the new guy moving in. I spent the last few nights up late packing/cleaning, and the mornings up early packing/cleaning. Every time I felt like I was finished with something, I'd spot something else that needed doing. It was a never ending quest and by the end I hated that apartment.
After waking up at 7:30, cleaning and packing for a couple hours (finishing up), I went into the city to pick up the new guy. Took him to the office, then to the apartment, then grocery shopping, then back to work for 5 classes in a row. Add in the fact that the last couple nights I hadn't been sleeping well because I moved my mattress out already so I was just sleeping on a thin futon (and thus not sleeping well), and by the end of the day I just didn't give a damn about anything. I wanted to get to the hotel, check in, and relax. Small room, but at least there's a bed here.
Snapped this shot on the platform while I was waiting for a train into the city. Used to be just a 7 minute walk or so between work and home, now it's a walk and a 20 minute train ride. Nothing strenuous, but different for me. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow or Friday night I'll go for one of the "parties" the ladies around the hotel neighborhood keep mentioning as I walk by their businesses ("massage" parlors and the like).
