Cock of Gold

I spent an entertaining afternoon yesterday on the Cathedral Green chatting to ITV camera man with his  £40,000 kit as we watched in total awe 2 steeplejacks up on the Cathedral Spire replacing the restored Weathercock. It was last done in 1963. Then they used scaffolding.  They had previously taken down the vane for restoration. It weighs over a hundredweight, so they had to make a scaffold then winch it up.
I got cold sitting watching so legged it down this morning to catch it in the glorious morning sunshine. It's covered it 24 c gold leaf.
