Plant Expert

Of course now that I am a fully paid up member of the RHS, I have immediately become an expert on plants and gardening.

I can therefore confidently tell you that this is a flower and there is one of those outer things missing.

Terrible night’s sleep - we were woken by noises in the early hours - around 3 a.m. I came down to investigate and check that the house was secure - but no sign of any problems. Of course, once disturbed it is difficult to go back to sleep as you are listening out for more noises. Also we now have no early warning system in the shape of a dog!

Discovered this morning that there were reports of prowlers in gardens in the neighbouring village (a mile away) at 2 a.m. - and now wonder if it was the same group. Keys, wallets and computers will be upstairs tonight.
