Allotment triffid ;-)

Another glorious day here in Edinburgh, and was a pleasure to be able to spend a bit of the late afternoon at the Allotment.

Some of our sunflowers are beginning to look really quite triffid-like ... the one in the main snap must be around 11ft to 12ft tall - that's a hazel tree on its left; a cherry tree on its right; and the ridge-line of a full sized greenhouse behind it!

The two extras show one of the smaller sunflowers that I could actually manage to photograph close up; and one of our rudbeckia which are also looking quite stunning at the moment :-)
