Watch and learn
Harriet wanted to ride whilst her sister was ‘helping’ her dad on their farm, so Louise brought her over. She had a little go round whilst Emma schooled Jack, then we put the jumps up for them. Harriet paid close attention. Edmund wasn’t so bothered, but he’s a very good little pony and stands around for as long as he has to.
It’s an ‘extras’ kinda day -
We put the first rounders away and then we tacked up Jack’s 2 sisters, Roxy and Libby, for round two and took them for a little ride out.
When we got back, we brought in Topaz and Toto ( I was out voted, but still think Freddie is a better name ... darn it! ) and discovered the silly little boy had somehow had a run in with some barbed wire. There is some along a ditch to stop cows and horses falling in, so he’d obviously been fooling around and fallen into it. Nothing too serious, so hopefully some antibiotic cream will keep the flies away.
Before going in for coffee and scones, I popped to the orchard and picked a few apples to go with the blackberries I picked at work a couple of days ago.
The shot of Jack is his ‘what’s going on now?’ face - Emma was throwing straw down from the top of the new stack that’s just been brought in so’s she could use it as bedding.
