West Cumbria
It took ages to pack the van, finding good spaces to store stuff, minimising the rattling when on the move.
After a long FaceTime with Ella and Nathaniel which seemed mostly inspecting their wobbly teeth and taking photos of each other as well as admiring Ella’s chore chart. She has drawn one up to remind her what her daily chores are. Today it was making her bed, changing bedding etc. Nathaniel said making a chart was too much like another chore.
It took about 3 hours to get to the west coast via the Roman road. We have not been this far up before - we did once visit the slave trade museum in Whitehaven. We are staying on a farm between Allonby and Silloth. The view in one direction is Skiddaw in the Lake District and Criffell over the Solway in Scotland in the other.
And the weather is lovely, whereas it was misty and wet at home. We were able to sit outside reading till 5pm. Such a treat.
