Todays picking

I can't bare the thought that this delightful Indian summer will come to an end this week.  Today was another wonderfully warm and sunny day and we asked my husbands aunt to join us for the final barbecue of the summWeer.  I picked these cherry tomatoes to add to some of my french beans in a delicious home grown salad.  She was delighted to see the Hornets in the cotoneaster tree.. she and her brother had stumbled into a Hornets nest when very young and she remembers being submerged in a bath full of some soothing anti hornet stuff.. she said Borax.. but that sounds dangerous to me!! Anyway the binoculars came out so that she could have a very close inspection (from a respectable distance!)
Determined to make the most of the warmth I am heading out painting with my plein air buddies tomorrow.. fun fun
