Sunrise in Downham
My view as I pulled up to school this morning at 7:45. It's so nice for it to be light as I'm driving in now. As it gets closer to half term, it takes us longer & longer to actually get out of the warm car and go into school. Today, after taking the photo, I even got back into the car to have another 15 minutes of gossip with Claire. It's become so bad that Martha pulls up behind us and gets into our backseat to join our chatter.
Some facts about Downham:
- It was in the news this week due to the fox attack on a 1-month old baby while he was asleep in his cot. The children have been telling me all about it all week.
- It was built to relieve overcrowding in central London as a council estate with 6000 houses built for 30,000 people, completed in 1930.
- The Downham Tavern was the world's largest pub for a few years.
