Raspberry on Steroids?

A lovely autumn day and a delightful visit with Bluheron this afternoon at her house. I baked up a rice pudding similar to the one our mother used to make. While it baked we sat outside and enjoyed the clean air and blue sky. The smoke from the wildfires may return, however, for now, they have abated and the rain and cooler temperatures have slowed the fires some. 

In her yard is a fruiting Kousa Dogwood. I read about the fruit just before posting this blip and learned the fruit is edible! Some people describe the fruit as looking like a "raspberry on steroids", with a delicate flavor. I will have to try one of these odd-looking fruit to see what I think about the flavor!
