UNM Observatory

on Capilla Peak in the Manzano Mts. (Elevation 9,368 feet, 2,855 meters).  30 miles south of Albuquerque. See the old observatory and the new smoke.

From the small town of Manzano a 10 mile drive up a narrow, rugged dirt road to the fire tower and the observatory.  You will pass through a large burn area from previous forest fires.

I wanted to show just how smoky the area is due to the California fires.
