Birdland - Not Really On Holiday#3
Continuing our 'Not Really A Holiday' we made a very enjoyable visit to Birdland today. I've been meaning to go again since I bought my season ticket in February in preparation for the blip meet which never took place thanks to Covid.
Journey time: 15 mins
Queuing at the car park machine time: 15 mins
I couldn't decide which of these images to use as the main blip, and eventually thought the pelicans were the more striking. 'A strange bird the pelican, its beak can hold more than its belly can'. The snowy owl in the extra was fun too. He had his back to me but just for a split second swivelled his head around 180 degrees just for me to take his photo.
The camera club Zoom last night was interesting, although a bit overlong. The voting worked reasonably well. One of my images made it through to the finals, but didn't get a place. I had an embarrassing moment in that I had to take the batteries out of mrsfb's wall clock as it was ticking so loudly that everyone could hear it as we all shut up during the voting process. I will have to remember to take it off the wall for future meetings.
In other news when we got home from Birdland the letter from Southmead had arrived confirming mrsfb's hip operation. Looks like we will have to self isolate, from each other even, for the first two weeks of October. What fun.
