CannyScot's Day

A dull but dry day

Another day, another garden. This time we visited the National Trust property, Inveresk House on the outskirts of Edinburgh near Musselburgh. It was quiet but it meant we were free to wander around. The gardens were more extensive than I imagined but the variety was excellent. However, the ground sloped considerably and made walking a bit of a challenge.

Afterwards, we had lunch at the Mortonhall Garden Centre. The Restaurant was superbly Covid secure and the Menu accessed on our phones. The standard of decor was very high and I was most impressed with the whole experience.

Back in the house for a restful afternoon reading the latest Peter May book.

As expected, we are now under greater restrictions in Scotland- no more meeting in other households. Still, something has to be done to get the Virus under control. It is just as well we planned this visit for these last few days or we wouldn’t have been able to come down for months!
