From a distance

We walked from site to the castle and then across a field and downhill to join the Offas dyke path. It took use across the valley and then up. I had not expected it to be a steep walk through woods and across fields and I was also surprised when we got above the trees to look back and see Chirk Castle on the hill at the other side of the valley. Found a lovely big tree to sit under for our lunch and then set off back. We passed a massive area of brambles and hubby wanted to pick some so he used the sandwich bags we had in my backpack, they were a bit squashed when we got back but he will make jam so not a problem. Not quite as far as yesterday’s walk but a lot harder.
We had an encounter with a guy trying to control a six month old St Bernard as we got back to site and they were walking off, it wanted to play with Hetty and was pulling towards us. Half an hour later we were sitting outside the camper and it arrived at our pitch, alone with its lady owner running after him. Hetty was quickly picked up and he was retrieved.
