Caught

Although I had plenty to be getting on with in the kitchen I did want to secure a supply of elderberries before the weather turns and the birds eat them all so we toured all our usual haunts with more or less success. We also found a new supply of blackberries but picked only enough for a couple of servings - can't cope with more at present

Along the way we revisited Hadfast Valley Reserve, where rosebay seeds catching in the hogweed skeletons resembled spiderwebs.

So next on the agenda is processing the elderberries, once the chutney is finished - any time now, so I'd better dash back to the kitchen!
