Snake

We had a night and morning of torrential rain, which was all we got of Medicane Ianos. Nothing too severe, but enough to give the ground a thorough soaking and cool the temperature right down.
Saffron prowled around , finding all sorts of creepy-crawlies emerging from the wet undergrowth, and then progressed to catching this beautiful snake. I think it may be a European cat snake, but am not sure. Having established that it wasn't anything very poisonous, we rescued it from Saffron (rather than the other way round).
