Here we go again

Andrea and Richard came over to try the Marsala cake I had made from a Rachel Roddy recipe in the Guardian last weekend. It was a disaster. I left it in the oven for double the time but even then the centre was not cooked properly. We sat in the garden - masks and hand sanitiser at the ready, wondering whether we’d be able to do this in a week’s time, after all, Tom in Newcastle has now had a week of the ban on mixing with other households.

Later I watched Boris as the pup curled up next to me for a snooze. We will need a lot of strength to get through this winter.
