The big R day 1

St Nicholas church - Charlwood.
Mr U&L had some business in Horley today, so rather than go home and have to return for him later I went back down the road to Charlwood, a delightful little village on the outskirts of Gatwick airport.
The Norman church was delightful (see extra 3), but I decided to blip the spectacular Yew tree in the churchyard, as it was just so old, and totally hollow. I was able to walk inside and photograph the gravestones through the cracks in the bark (see extra 1) and look upwards to the sky (see extra 2). Amazingly, despite only having a thin layer of bark it is still alive and sporting cheerful red berries - a reminder winter is not far off!
